Monday to Friday: 8.30am to 12.30pm
you are valued.
you are not forgotten.
you are not accidental.
there is a place for you.
God himself is in a community of three persons in one – the Father, Son and Holy Spirit – who exist in perfect unity. Likewise God has intended for us to be in community with one another.
In the Book of Acts, we get a clear picture of small communities of people who followed Jesus together. It encompassed both the “temple courts” and “house to house”. These believers engaged in life together through teaching, fellowship, communion, prayer, miracles, radical generosity and corporate worship. They spent time together eating, learning, celebrating, proclaiming the Good News and supporting each other. It is never God’s intention for anybody to be alone.
In a similar modern context, members of Georgetown Baptist Church get connected and develop close and intentional relationship with each other through Cell Group. They grow in support each other as small communities of faith and develop as building blocks of the larger church. Cell Group is a crucial pillar for us to “bring” the church rather just “doing” church.
We welcome you with open arms to discover and experience Cell Group so that we together can grow in biblical community as ONE body of Christ.
At every Cell Group, there is a place for everybody – a place for fellowship, a place for Bible Study and a place for you to express yourselves as a fellow believer.
Fellowship or koinonia in the New Testament refers to sharing of lives among Christians that nurtures edifying relationships with one another in Christ. Cell Groups brings Christians together to facilitate joyful, biblical and affectionate service for each others’s good.
Apostle Paul teaches Christians to mutually encourage each other’s faith. Timothy affirms that all Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness. Therefore, each Cell Group exists to faithfully synthesizes these teachings into encouraging one another, studying God’s Word and holding each other accountable.
Cell Group is more than just a gathering of people at home, having fellowship and studying God’s Word. It allows people to express themselves, share their life stories, to laugh, encourage, strengthen, and pray together. Cell Group makes service and outreach an integral part of their plans.
