Georgetown's Drop-In-Centre is one of the many ways we are contributing towards the needs of our immediate community. Located within a rented house at 162 Hutton Lane, it is also known asSeh Mia Huin (Hokkien for Abundant Life Garden), a place where the poor and needy can receive life, nourishment and hope.
The centre is open to elderly people or homeless individuals who drop in to have a rest, take a shower or read the newspapers. Free lunch is provided, through the Feed The Poor Programme, on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday between 11.30am and 12.30pm.
There are also other activities carried out for these folks in conjunction with special occasions, such as Fathers' / Mothers' Day, Christmas and Chinese New Year.

[Gallery]In response to the education needs of the community children, the tuition centre was started at the Kedah Road flats to provide good quality but inexpensive tuition for the children. The subjects currently available are English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mathematics.
Weekly tuition sessions are given at very low fees to children from different backgrounds. The teachers are volunteers from Georgetown and they are able to provide guidance and support for the kids.
So if you know of a kid who could benefit from these classes, check us out and call Ng Hwai Joo at 04-2289440 for further details.
This ministry was introduced to help the primary and secondary school students in Relau with English and other school subjects for free. Lessons are conducted within the premises of Georgetown South and transportation to and from the church is provided for those who stay further away.
Through this outreach, we are able to directly impact the children mentally, spiritually and emotionally as we teach and mingle with them every Saturday.
